School Street Residences is an 80-unit affordable housing development located in the heart of Yonkers, NY. It is 8 stories of masonry and block construction. This building provides families with top-quality living spaces and amenities to better serve their quality of life. This building features an exercise room, a community lounge, a playroom, a parking lot for the residents, a beautiful rooftop pergola patio, and a rear terrace. It has an energy efficient VRF HVAC system and a two-story lobby with a grand architectural staircase.
This project faced many obstacles during its construction. Located on a narrow one-way street with many active businesses and truck traffic, the construction process needed to be well-planned. Due to logistical restrictions, a tower crane was required. An extensive retaining wall was installed as high as approximately 30’ in some areas with soil nails and H-Piles.
