John Madeo is the Executive Vice President of Development and General Counsel for Mountco. In these capacities, John directs all development operations, including site acquisition, contract negotiations, planning and design, project financing, and local government approvals. John has a broad background in real estate development in both the public and private sectors.
Prior to Mountco, John was Regional Vice President for Creative Choice Homes, a national housing development company, where he was responsible for all Northeast operations. He also was President of Fairfield 2000 Homes Corporation, focusing on affordable housing projects throughout Fairfield County, CT.
He is well versed in housing and real estate development issues. John holds a Juris Doctorate degree from Fordham University, as well as a Masters Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Southern California. He has managed a general law practice specializing in real estate, landlord-tenant, and administrative law. He is a member of the New York State Bar.
John serves on several boards and committees, including the Fairfield Housing Authority. He was formerly Vice Chairman of the New Rochelle Municipal Housing Authority and served for seven years as the Chairman of the Fairfield (CT) Board of Education.
